Well I haven't looked into motherboards or ram speed lately. But for the
others:

Video Card: ATi Radeon 9800 XT Pro 256MB
Processor: Latest PIV which is at this time 3.4 - 3.6GHZ with H/T
HD Setup: Recommend a Raid 0 or Raid 5 if you really want to be crazy with
Western Digital Raptor @ 10,000 Rpm's.

You can go less than the Raptors like an IDE at 7200 rpm's but the faster
the better IMHO.

You could go scsi but they are of course more expensive.

Err. Sorry about that I'll clarify:

I am looking for recommendations on what make/model of components to go
with: motherboard/processor/ram/video card/ HDD etc.

I listed those makes because they are what I'm gravitating towards
buying, but I before I make my purchase I would like to hear what the
intelligent, hard working gamers on this list think :}.

Cheers,

Mike

Yep, windows 2000 will definitely run on that :)

Nah, you should be ok with all that, MSI has improved incredibly it
seems over the past few years where its nigh on one of the best for
AMD now, alongside ABIT and ASUS, etc.

What were you actually asking in your mail though, as you dont include
any specifics! :)
