That's what I thought. But the computer has mcafee 8.0i with the latest
definitions and did not find anything... I have also tried other scanners
but with no results...
Weird... I'll try running mmc and I'll let you know if it works, but right
now, the user just came back so my window of opportunity of working on this
is pretty gone for now! : (
Thanks for the info Glenn! I did not know sfc! But have you ever been able
to fix anything with it?

Can you start MMC? Start->Run->MMC...
If so, can you Open an MSC from there? Or compose a new one?
Can you get to the display control panel through the desktop, or does
that not work either?

A couple of other symptoms of the system in question:
- None of the msc seem to work (It says the file does not exist (it
does), is not an MMC console or was created by a later version of MMC
- Control Panel does not open
If anyone has any suggestions please shoot!!! ; )
