Yup you can do that. We use roaming profiles for the most part so it's basically the same thing. I occasionally have had problems with registry looking for files that weren't on the new system, especially if the same profile has been used for numerous PC OS upgrades. -----Original Message----- From: Freitas, Eduardo [mailto:Eduardo.Freitas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, June 17, 2004 9:07 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Migrating from Win NT Wks to Win XP Pro Hello, I was wondering what is the best way of migrating a user from a Windows NT workstation machine to a new installation of Windows XP Professional. I tried running Settings and Configuration Wizard on the NT but that failed. I am currently thinking about just copying all the information on the profile of the user to the new user. Any tips?
