[windows2000] Re: How to disable auto-new hardware detection

I tried that.. 2k would only boot in safe mode since I installed it months ago, 
seems to have a problem assigning hardware parameters for my creative labs, 
RIVA TNT2 Ultra 32 AGP card and it won't let me set them manually. Note this 
hardware works fine in 95 & 98 and RedHat Linux 8.0, I even got the latest 
video drivers from creative's site but 2k refuses to load them.

While the system was booting, I selected F8, and choose to use the restore/load 
last working configuration option, there was only 1 to pick from, naturally it 
hung again.. I also tried the logging option, hung again.

It's not a big loss as 2k was just an experimental installation and I'm just 
going to wipe the drive and install everything from scratch. Installing from 
scratch about every 6 months seems to be a good practice when running windows, 
this way I get rid of the unused programs and regain some of my speed !!!
