[windows2000] How to Setup SMS accordingly

Hello guys!
I would just like to ask to you guys on how to install SMS. Before i
install the SMS in the ACtive directory, do i really need to have a
separete box that runs SQL and do i need to install the SMS in Active
directory or to the different machine(what is the recommended)? What is
the hardware requiremenets?
