video files and Winamp

Hello all. I have some video files that I downloaded and I can't figure
something out on them. I recently installed the cross fader plugin for
Winamp and the sound on the video files that I have has worsened. They
sounded ok before this plugin was installed. I don't want to remove it as I
do broadcasting. Any suggestions? Thanks.
