Hi, Dick, somehow, your file types got messed up, so do the following:
1. launch winamp.
2. get to preferences with control p.
3. use the home key to get to the top of the tree-view, and arrow down
to file types.
4. tab to a button that in later versions of winamp says all, though
in older versions, it just says select all, and press the space bar to
select all the file types that winamp can play.
5. tab to the close button, to close the preferences tree-view.
Now, winamp should be your default player for all the file types it can
play, including mp3.
