S Q R crossfasder problems!

Dear Listers,
I am having problems getting the S Q R crossfader to work, with Win Amp
version 5.13. I created a playlist, saved it correctly to "My Playlists";
the crossfader is not "kicking in", when I initiate the playlist, by hitting
Enter, to play the first file in the playlist. In other words, there is no
crossfade happening when the first file ends and the next one should begin
playing. I have uninstalled the S Q R program, then reinstalled it. In the
Output Plug In section, I have the Wave Out plug In working, plus the Direct
Sound Plug In and the SQR Crossfade program as well, with, I think, all the
correct configurations done. Is there something that I have to do in the
File folder? I have it set on M3U and/or "the all files" spot. What have I
done wrong , or, what else should I do? Never had this problem before--
What's happening?
Any help appreciated!
