If you're upgrading to 5, you should install version 5 right over the top
of version 2.80. If you have any bookmarks or favorites saved, uninstalling
your previous version will delete them.
You will find that there are a few differences with 5, but nothing truely
astronomical that is impossible to navigate.
as has been mentioned more times than I care to remember on the list
here, but there's always newbies coming along so I guess it bares
repeating. When installing version 5, make sure that when you come to the
skin selection part of the install, make sure you choose the classic
skin. This way you'll have the exact same functionality as before. if you
choose the modern skin, you'll have nothing but trouble, trust me on this
one, others can attest to it too i'm sure.
also you might be wondering the differences between Winamp 5 full and
Winamp 5 pro. Winamp 5 full is the free version just as 2.80 was. Winamp
pro costs $14.95 and allows you to rip and burn cd's at the highest speed
your cd burner can go. the free version limits you to certain kinds of
files and limits you to ripping only at 1 x, which is very very slow.
