Adding tracks to Winamp Library?

I right clicked on the highest level folder in which I store all my music, and, from the context menu, I chose Add to Winamp Library. Winamp opened up, and, I imagine, started doing its job.

Now, do I have to leave both Winamp and the Explorer windows open, or can I close either of them? Also, how can I tell when the job is done?

Thanks.
