Here's some friendly reminders on what's happening around Whitman
Elementary:
Monday, October 31
Goes without saying but its Halloween!!!! However, your child must be
dressed appropriately, please do not send your child in with costumes. But
after school, after you all get dressed up, head over to your local Krispy
Kreme and get a free donut! Check the link below for details

Friday, November 4 - Shining Starts Ceremony, 9:10 am on Blacktop
Whitman PTA will be sponsoring this event by offering cookies and juice
after the ceremony. If you are interested in helping, please arrive around
8:40 am in the auditorium to help setup and right after the assembly help by
monitoring the cookie/juice tables.
Friday, November 4 - Ice Cream Party
Students that participated by selling at least one item from the Fall
Fundraiser will be invited to an ice-cream party. Whitman PTA can use help
to distribute the treats.
Friday, November 11 - Veteran's Day, No School
Monday, November 14 - Madison Cluster Community Meeting, 5:30 pm, Rm TBD
Monday, November 14 - November 18
Parent/Teacher conferences, early dismissal 1:25 pm
Monday, November 21 - November 25
Thanksgiving Break - No School
Thursday, December 1 - Star Party
Come out and gaze at the stars, stay tuned for addition details.
3rd grade will be selling food as a fundraiser for a field trip.
Friday, December 2 - Shining Star
Monday, December 5 - Thursday, December 8
Holiday Shop
Whitman PTA will be looking for volunteers to help setup and run the shop
during school hours.
Friday, December 9 - Glow Jam Party
Students that sold 10 items from the Fall Fundraiser will be invited to a DJ
Glow Jam Party
Monday, December 19, 2011 - Monday, January 2, 2012 (just when you got used
to writing your date in 2011 eh?)

Whitman PTA Association Meeting
Merchandise:
Show your Whitman Spirit by wearing your Cougar merchandise!!! Check out
examples of the merchandise on display inside the Front Office. Order forms
are available in the front office. Cash - exact change please, and checks -
payable to Whitman PTA, are accepted.
We have:
Polos for Ladies and Mens - Size M, L, XL, and 2X for both
Scoop neck shirts (note these are Junior/Misses sizes so for adults, go up
one size) - M, L, XL
New!!! - Hooded pullovers in Youth Medium and limited Youth Large
New!!! Whitman T-Shirts (sizes Youth Medium only, along with adult sizes M,
L, XL, 2X).
We also still have the cougar paw T-Shirts for Adults (Size S - 2X), cougar
paw zippered hoodies for Youth Small, and Adults (sizes S - 2XL)
Volunteer Opportunities
Parents/teachers that wish to help make a difference at Whitman with the
Whitman PTA are welcome to help in the following ways:
Mission Federal Banking Days - Every Wed except the first Wed of the month.
Parent Reps for grades Pre-K, 3 - 6: BE a member of the Board by being a
representative for the grade and serve as a liaison by passing on important
info of upcoming testing, field trips, or other types of events that are
grade specific.
Holiday Shop
Help make this an enjoyable experience for the students of Whitman that
Giving is just as rewarding as receiving. Whitman PTA will need help with
running the shop during school hours. The shop will run from Monday,
December 5 to Thursday, December 8.
