Dear Whitman Families and Friends,
Here are some friendly reminders on what's going on around Whitman
Elementary
Fall Fundraiser
Whitman PTA will continue to process order forms until Thursday, October 20,
2011. The orders will be sent to the company by Friday, October 21, 2011.
Any late orders after that will be faxed in but will not go towards the
classroom percentage incentives.
Make-up Picture Day
October 17, 2011
You do not need to send money with your child to picture day as you'll get a
proof in about a week or two.
Steve Spellman Magic Spectacular Family Night October 22, 2011, 5 pm - 8 pm
The show will be on the blacktop, you are welcome to bring your lawn chairs
and blankets. Classrooms are still accepting donations for themed baskets
until Wednesday, October 19. Thank you to those that have turned in forms
indication what food/drink items you can donate as the aids the Whitman PTA
in planning. Food/drink Donations are due by Friday, October 21, 20111.
The Magic Show is almost here and the Whitman PTA is planning on making this
a fun event for families and for members of the community. We are looking
for volunteers to help make this a successful event. Attached please find a
volunteer sign-up sheet. If you are interested, simply reply to this email
and let us know where you are available to help.

Wednesday - Mission Federal Banking Day
Don't forget, Wednesdays are banking day for your child that wishes to make
a deposit. Mission Federal is looking for volunteers to help on Wednesdays
for an hour.
School Site Council (SSC) Board
If you are interested to learn more about how to be on the SSC Board, please
contact the school at (858) 273-2700. Attached is a flyer with information
on training about SSC.
Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to the upcoming Steve Spellman Magic Spectacular, Whitman PTA
Board is looking for Parents to serve as Grade Representatives. This is a
great way for Parents to be involved with the Board and to serve as a
liaison between the Board and the particular grade. There are spots
available from pre-school and grades 1 to 6. Whitman PTA Board is also
looking for a volunteer to serve as the webmaster for the Whitman PTA
website.
