[wdmaudiodev] setting the default audio device

Is it possible from a device driver, installer or some userlandprogram to
set the audio device that will be chosen as the
default for playback, recording and when opening the mixer
controls? I would ideally like to have a simple gui element
that lets the user select a default device so that most programs
would automatically use that device unless directed to
specifically use some other device.
