Windows will handle the dithering when converting from one format to another.

Subject: [wdmaudiodev] Re-dithering in Windows?
Hi,
I am working on an APO (32bit floats in/out), which processes audio that will
eventually be delivered as 16bit fixed point samples to a USB device.
Can anyone tell me, if I can rely on Windows to apply re-dithering to the
signal, or do I need to consider this in the APO?
If I can rely on Windows to handle the re-dithering, should I do anything to
activate or configure this?
If I cannot rely on Windows to handle the re-dithering, should I then implement
this on the 32bit floats in the APO, or is there a better place to handle this?
Please share advice/hints/experience.
Thank you in advance,
Best regards / Med venlig hilsen
