The Windows Vista HD Audio class driver does not support the mic array endpoint because we did not succeed in defining a standardized way for hardware/firmware to describe the geometry of the array to the class driver. While Vista and the Microsoft RTC APIs and Office Communicator (and soon Live Messenger) all support the Microsoft Microphone Array processing algorithm out of Microsoft Research it is up to a 3rd party audio function driver to expose the mic array endpoint and its geometry using the Vista mic array geometry property set which is documented here: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/default.mspx (look for Mic array section) Sincerely, Hakon Strande | Windows Sound Team PM -----Original Message----- From: wdmaudiodev-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wdmaudiodev-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Squall Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 4:17 AM To: wdmaudiodev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [wdmaudiodev] MicArray supported in Vista for HDAudio device? Does anyone know if Microsoft HDAudio UAA driver supports Mic Array endpoint under Windows Vista? If so, how can one customise the Pin Configuration Default such that it will expose the Mic Array endpoint? Thanks in advance.
