Hello wdmaudiodev people!
I am developing an APO for my customer's USB headphone. Because I need to
be compatible right back to Windows 7 I need to get my driver package
certified/signed by Microsoft via HCK.
In the driver package submission process I am being presented with a
requirement to enter a "Device Metadata Model ID" (see attached).
Can someone please advise me on the following:
- It seems this may apply only to UWP Apps (my APO is neither "App" nor
Universal) so is it possible to simply omit this
- The available categories seem limited - can I describe my APO as an
"Audio.Adapter"?
- The Model ID seems to have the shape of a GUID and I see docs that
suggest I can use my (USB) Vendor ID and some GUID to create this? Is
this (broadly correct?
Excuse the compound questions - maybe the best overall single qusetion is:
am I on the right track with this at all? Or is there some other path
through HCK specific to (Win Vista/7) APO drivers?
Thanks
Culann
