Dear Neighbor;
I don't know who you are, but you came up our front walk this morning,
shoveled a little clearing in the snow, and fed our duckies some Cheerios.
It was such a charming gesture, thank you so much!
We were touched, and the duckies...well...there's the problem.
We've had them in the house when it's cold (and when they feel like
visiting) and one day I left a box of Cocoa Puffs on the counter. One thing
led to another, and they're loyal to their brand now, so thanks for the
Cheerios...but they love chocolate. Now I have to mix MY cereal with their
pellets, or they won't eat it.
Yes, I share. I make the sacrifice.
I have my Cocoa Puffs at the table. They have their Cocoa Puffs out in the
duck yard, poolside, kickin' back with their orange feet up on a stool, and
the cat sneaks around the side of the barn and eats all their duck feed.
Yeah, I know: I got big problems. What pandemic? What politics? On a farm,
when a cat develops a taste for Cocoa Puffs, you know what that means. Uh
oh...
