That's only a seven-month stint on the Board.

That's long enough to see if you can afford the time commitment.

It's also long enough for you to see that there is very little controversy
on the Board. Most of what we do is sign papers, keep the boilerplate
requirements fulfilled, and address the various problems that arise in the
day-to-day functioning of the town.

There's not even a lot of wrangling over issues and decisions. Most of what
needs to be done, over time, becomes fairly obvious. In my time on the
Board there have been...oh...four votes that were contentious. Four votes
in four years.
