It was like that yesterday too, headed to Winchester about 1:30 and had to turn
around. On the way back I forgot about it until I was already on Scotland
Road, so thought I'd go as far as I could and see where the blockage was.
There wasn't really any (although lots of chips and twigs on the road &
shoulder showed they'd cleared some stuff.)
I got past the sand pit (still in NH) and came on a sign in the middle of the
road that said "DETOUR" --and pointed into the woods! There was nothing on the
road, and no debris visible. At that point I could see the other sign up the
road a bit, so I just drove around the signs and went my merry way. I guess it
was risky because they could have mined it for all I knew, but all's well that
ends well.
