I'm profoundly saddened to have to let you know that Dr. Martha Kitchen (known
to all as 'Mel') lost her battle with cancer on Monday evening. She was our
beloved companion and best friend, as well as a caregiver for me and Pat. A
published editor and translator of Russian poetry and stories, she delighted
everyone with her sharp wit and deep knowledge. We are brokenhearted. Any
gatherings in her honor will be later on in the Spring.
