“bill is to support people being able to drive others without having to
purchase an insurance policy to be a kind and compassionate person”.
She attached the Bill for our reference. I can’t open the attachment.
When I push something I write a summary. Its fundamental.
Is this bill for volunteers or for a compensated “kind and compassionate
person”?
I always understood that we have Good Samaritan protection. That if I happened
upon an accident and did my level best after summoning 911 if possible, I’d
have protection and because of that nobody would walk away because they are
afraid of a lawsuit. I sure hope I have not been sleepwalking.

Subject: [The-L] Good Samaritan Bill
Forwarded from Representative Whipps office.
Beth
I wanted to bring your attention to the bill H1348, Good Samaritan Bill.
Representative Whipps is supporting this bill and feels it could be a great
benefit to this district. Please take a moment to learn a bit more and provide
a letter of support if you find appropriate.
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Statehouse Room
A-1 at 1:00pm. Mr. Richard Whippie from Barre, will be presenting testimony
in front of the hearing committee. Mr. Whippie brought this bill to our
attention approx 4 years ago and we have been working with him diligently to
get this bill passed. Central and western Mass, especially the rural towns do
not have the ability to call a taxi or uber, we depend on our neighbors and
friends. This bill is to support people being able to drive others without
having to purchase an insurance policy to be a kind and compassionate person.
I have attached the Bill for your reference. Please feel free to contact me if
you have any questions.
I am asking if you could possibly send me a support letter for this Bill. You
can email the letter to me, which would help due to the time constraints.
Please address the letter to:
