Press Release: April 22, 2019
Stage on Main
17 South Main
Street, Orange MA
Stage
on Main, 17 South Main Orange MA is presenting the following programing. All
programing has free admission and donations are always welcome.
"Seeing the Stones-Journeys in the 4th
Dimension", an exhibition of photographs by artist
Sarah Kohler on Thursday, April
25 from 5-8 pm. The photographs in this exhibition are
the artists documentations of the stones in the context of their being
pragmatic, precision instruments; mapping measured points in spacetime. Within
these constructs, one also see the stones as
crystal-fractal-holograms; expertly worked to
enhance the interplay of sunlight &
quartz.
Readings by Dee Waterman, a Pioneer Valley actress starring in
multiple performances since 1976, and Richard Trousdell, Professor Emeritus of
Theater University of Massachusetts, from “I’m Henry” from You Know I Can’t
Hear You When the Water’s Running by Robert
Anderson and “Two in Torquay” by Alan Bennett on Sunday, May 19th at 3:00 pm
(Doors open at 2:30 pm).
Gallery opening of James
Blackmore a local western
Massachusetts artist whose art transcends labels and cannot be defined or
limited to any
one style, genre or medium. The opening is Thursday, May 16 from 5-8 pm.
Cristen Lenard-DeTour a local vocal guitarist will
provide music.
James work is
deeply influenced by the world around him and is infused with the vibrant
colors, textures and subtle nuances of his subject matter.
James’ love of art
was cultivated during his teenage years. He would sit for hours,
spontaneously sketching found objects,
nature, friends and stranger, anything or anyone that inspired him to create!
You will come to
realize, as you view this showcase of work, that James Blackmore is an
extremely visual artist.
James has the uncanny ability of capturing, in photographic detail, the true
essence of his subjects, while at the same time embracing an interpretive style
that
can only be described as mesmerizing.
