Brass Quintet At Trinitarian Congregational Church
The Pioneer Valley Brass will perform a free public concert of modern and
traditional music for brass ensembles on Saturday, January 14 at
Trinitarian Congregational Church of Warwick. The 4:00 p.m. concert will be
the 774th in a series of memorial vesper services funded by a trust of the
First Universalist Parish of North Dana. The fund was started with
donations from sisters Catherine Mason and Mary Hale in the early 1900's,
to ensure that the memory of the parish in North Dana would be remembered
long after the church land and village were taken by the state to create
the Quabbin watershed.
Descendants of the Parish continue to administer the trust fund and
organize concerts as a memorial.
The Pioneer Valley Brass is composed of a quintet of talented musicians
composed of Dick Tandy and Curtis Coolidge on trumpet, Jim Engele on horn,
Jeri Bannister on trombone, and Joe Hoyle on tuba.
Vespers programs are sponsored by the First Universalist Parish of North
Dana periodically throughout the year at various churches and nursing homes
throughout the Quabbin Region. For information, contact Maureen Riendeau,
