One other thing, we have 2 representatives in the MA legislature. Susannah
Whipps is our rep is the MA State House and Joanne Comerford is our rep in
the MA State Senate. Both can advocate for our case with the Department of
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. So if you are writing a
letter to one rep, I encourage you to make a copy with the name of the other
at the top. Adam can then collate letters to both reps and send them on
their way.

Thank you for a beautifully crafted information bulletin and draft letter to
our state representative Susannah Whipps! I learned new information that
gives me hope. I have sent my letter version to Adam Holloway, and am
delighted to be able to contribute to the effort in this small way. Please
let us know what else those of us who are on the sidelines can do to support
your effort.
One comment - the draft letter refers to "reduced assessments". I changed
this in my letter to reduced property values, for this reason - property
asessment numbers are for the purpose of taxation. Reduced assessments
would likely mean savings in tax bills. Current property values are
estimates based on what the marketplace would predict a property to be sold
for. Reduction in property values can make it harder for a homeowner to
finance a home or obtain a home improvement loan, or harder to attract
homebuyers.
Kudos to you all for the excellent job you are doing keeping this issue
front and center. I pray that we will be successful.
