It came here but decided he didn’t like my dogs. Hi did some target practice
for a few days and it left. Still has some fear. I think it is a young male.

Living as you know just south of Hockanum, I can tell you that I have not
seen/heard this dog/wolf. We had plenty of turkeys. The most usual escape dogs
are in twos here. My dog has not alerted me to any wandering animal down here,
as he definitely would. My neighbors across the street also have not reported
any such critter. So you are correct in that this animal has stayed north of
Hockanum.

For the past three weeks or so I've been seeing what looks like (the same)
large coyote along the Wendell Rd. ranging from Hockanum to Moore's Pond.
What's curious about it to me is:
1) It's tail doesn't ride as far down as I expect to see on a coyote.
2) It's behavior looks less furtive than I'd expect. Several times I've come
on it as it's walking right down the street. Once at night I saw it, turned the
car around and it had remained where I'd previously spotted it, before sliding
off into the woods, more like a domestic dog.
3) I see it more frequently and obvioiusly than I usually see coyotes
We have had some pack howls closer than they usually are recently.
The turkeys are definitely less evident here than other years.
So, I'm wondering:
Has anyone else noticed this animal?
Does anyone have a big wolfy pet that's been getting out?
Any bad cat or chicken events about lately?
