Hi, I am totally blind and have used a flat-top stove for years with no
trouble. Set the pan on the burner area. Turn on the burner. As the burner area
heats up, you can hold your hand above the edges of the pan to feel if heat is
emanating around the edges of the pan and adjust the position of the pan as
necessary. I hope I've explained this adequately; if not, please ask me to
clarify. But I do not use any markings of any kind and it works fine. Candy

HI Shelley, sounds like a good challenge. Personally I haven't used a flat
cooktop.
Is this an induction type heat source or a radiant heating source?
I have read that people have used a wooden spoon as a gauge, place the pot
on the burner, then touch the pot with the spoon held horizontal, and mark
the spoon with tape where the edge of the flat top is located. Then as the
burner warms feel for equal heat around the edge of your pot.
Someone else suggested you can stick suction cups onto the surface marking
an outline of the burner area so you have a tactile target to orient the
cookware.
It would be good to know what material is permitted to be used on this glass
surface. This would help you decide on adaptations.
Keep the group informed on what solutions work for you.
Be well.

Subject: [visionrehabtherapist] Flat top electric stove labeling
Hello,
Do you all have suggestions for tactually marking a glass top flat top
stove?
i was told about using electrical tape as a sun type shape around the
burners, but wondering if anyone has come up with any other solutions.
I purchased a house and have a flat top, glass top, stove to use. I love
the ovens, it has two, but locating the burners on the top is a bit of a
challenge. Thanks.
