Nicole and all Visionaries,
How about the sunsetting of the Assistive Technology Act program. Half of
the 56 AT Act projects will sunset by September 30, 2003, with the rest
following in the next couple years. RESNA's Technical Assistance Project has
some great Accomplishment series documents that showcases the great work
these AT Act projects have been doing. See:

What's interesting is that with the defunding of these AT Act projects, it
will present a void in many states for AT awareness, funding strategies, AT
demonstration and loan programs, etc. And, with the New Freedom Initiative's
focus on AT loan programs, without the AT Act projects supporting the
infrastructure of such an AT loan program, what other state systems are in
place to do so?

Hi everyone. I sent this out on the mediatalk listserv and wanted to forward
it to all of you as well. Mark and I talked briefly about this this
afternoon. After I compile a good list of issues, I'd like to get all of
your input on what is most important and what you think we should include
(plus a consensus on the best action to encourage people to take). But
please also drop me a line with your suggestions now for what the key
advocacy issues are.
My goal is to come up with at least 5 good issues and to run one each day
the week before July 26. If we come up with more, I can always start it
earlier.
