Customers using Enterprise Manager, PureMessage and any of the Sophos small business solutions will be automatically protected at their next scheduled update. Sophos has received several reports of this worm from the wild. Note: Sophos has been detecting W32/Wallon-A since 23:08 GMT on 11 May 2004 and has issued this updated IDE to improve detection of W32/Wallon-A and add detection for W32/Wallon-B, W32/Wallon-C, Troj/Psyme-V, Troj/StartPa-HF and Troj/Dloader-JK Information about W32/Wallon-A can be found at: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32wallona.html Description W32/Wallon-A is an email worm. The worm sends mail containing a deceptive link. The link appears to direct the user to drs.yahoo.com/<user's domain>/NEWS but in fact points to a location on another website. The website that the link directs the user to uses Trojan downloaders and exploits to download and run a copy of the worm. The Trojans used and installed during the infection process are: Troj/Psyme-V, Troj/StartPa-HF, Troj/Dloader-JK and Dial/Top69-A. Recovery Please follow the instructions for removing worms.
