Information about W32/Sdbot-VW can be found at: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32sdbotvw.html W32/Sdbot-VW is a network worm from the Sdbot family which attempts to spread to remote network shares protected by weak passwords and computers vulnerable to common exploits. W32/Sdbot-VW also contains backdoor functionality, allowing unauthorised remote access to the infected computer via IRC channels while running in the background as a service process. A remote attacker can use the backdoor to send commands to the Trojan. These commands include instructions to delete network shares, steal registration keys for computer games, redirect internet traffic, participate in DDoS attacks, scan other computers and spread to network shares. W32/Sdbot-VW copies itself to the Windows system folder and creates the following registry entries to run itself automatically on log-on: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ Microsoft Windows GUI msmonk32.exe HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\ Microsoft Windows GUI msmonk32.exe This IDE file also includes detection for: Troj/BagAU-Dam http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojbagaudam.html Dial/Inoco-F http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/dialinocof.html Troj/Ablank-J http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojablankj.html Troj/SpyTool-GK http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojspytoolgk.html Troj/Spywad-A http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojspywada.html Troj/Small-DL http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojsmalldl.html Troj/BesTof-B http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojbestofb.html Troj/Winad-I http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojwinadi.html Troj/Bancos-PO http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojbancospo.html Troj/Banker-BM http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojbankerbm.html Troj/Bancos-QB http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojbancosqb.html Download the IDE file from: http://www.sophos.com/downloads/ide/sdbot-vw.ide Download all the IDE files available for the current version of Sophos Anti-Virus in a single compressed file.
