Information about W32/Dabber-A can be found at: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32dabbera.html Description W32/Dabber-A is a backdoor Trojan and network worm which searches for computers using randomly generated IP addresses that have been infected with the W32/Sasser worm(s). These infected computers are running an FTP server as a background process and have either TCP Ports 5554 or 9898 open. W32/Dabber-A will upload itself to these infected computers by exploiting a flaw in the implementation of the W32/Sasser's FTP server in order to propagate itself. This worm will copy itself into the Windows System (or System32) folder as PACKAGE.EXE and into the Startup menu using the same filename. For example: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\package.exe The following registry entries may also be created so that this worm can run automatically on system restart: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ sassfix = C:\<Windows System32>\package.exe HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\ sassfix = C:\<Windows System32>\package.exe HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ sassfix = C:\<Windows System32>\package.exe Recovery Please follow the instructions for removing worms This IDE file also includes detection for: Troj/Dloader-M http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojdloaderm.html Troj/CmjSpy-N http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojcmjspyn.html Troj/CmjSpy-O http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojcmjspyo.html Troj/StartPa-DH http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojstartpadh.html W32/SdBot-IM http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32sdbotim.html W32/Agobot-IM http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32agobotim.html W32/Sdbot-NA http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32sdbotna.html Troj/Startpa-CY http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojstartpacy.html W32/Agobot-IL http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32agobotil.html Download the IDE file from: http://www.sophos.com/downloads/ide/dabber-a.ide Download all the IDE files available for the current version of Sophos Anti-Virus in a single compressed file.
