Hey guys,
I'm helping a friend set up a Yamaha mg12xu with reaper, and while I
know this is not samplitude, I believe it may have been an issue for
one of you as I believe it's really a windows10 issue.
Windows10 keeps attempting to use the Yamaha as the default soundcard
and will not allow it to be used by the daw. I had this issue with
windows7 myself (sonar and reaper), and I uninstalled the realtek
driver and now use a generic windows driver for jaws and windows.
On my friend's computer, I disabled the realtek and enabled another
driver already installed on her computer, which was AMD digital audio
or something along those lines. It didn't work.
With windows10, do you have to uninstall the realtek driver to prevent
windows from highjacking the asio driver because the realtek driver is
set as the default audio driver. I do not want windows10 to
automaticly use the Yamaha mixer when connected.
