I'd sign on to the forum just to see what the other half is doing, if
for no other reason. One never knows what one can take away from their
solutions, and/or even work on things they come up with which we as
yet may not have, and vice versa. Can't wait to see what they're
doing, this other group. I see nothing bad in doing this.

Ok, Ive received this from Tom Wolfe, who has been my accessibility contact--
at Magix. Understandably, I think he is being pushed and pulled in different
directions by a number of users who require access to their products...and Im
probably one of them . Anyway, I applaud this move by Magix to create a focal
point for all VIP users, whether its with their own personal solution or not.
Its obviously been made in order to make his life easier and to optimise any
time he has. This way he should be able to identify and target issues much
easier, rather than trying to please different people who are using different
solutions., but where does this leave us? Well, personally I think this is a
very good move if the users involved can actually agree and work together on
solutions. To make you aware, there is at least one other solution being used
in Germany, but it is nothing like Samplitude Access at all. users of this
solution will obviously want a voice, but in my experience, its quite a loud
one . So, what Im getting at, is Samplitude Access will continue regardless
of any other solution, it wont incorporate other solutions, unless it was for
the benefit of the project. The aim with magix is to give them feedback on
the current access, what needs doing and how that is implemented...and
Samplitude Access is in the very best place to be the vehicle for that,
IMO, that isnt in question at all.
So, I would hope we still continue down the path were set on and that we
stick together as a community, rather than split off and start requesting and
watering down any accessibility voiced to Magix. We can work together for the
best outcome and make our voices heard as 1 united community. I can envisage
some pretty interesting requests from other solutions, but I would hope that
Tom can filter down any requests into something that can be used across the
board, rather than being specifically for 1 solution.
Interesting times for sure and Id be interested to hear what you think.
Cheers Steve.

Hello,
my name is Thomas Wolf, some of you already know me as Tom. I am the contact
person and the interface of the requests for accessiblility into Samplitude
development team. Together with you I want to significantly improve access to
Samplitude and Sequoia.
To achieve this I would like to have a networking of all of you, because in
the last months new groups or mailing lists approached to me, mutually knew
nothing of each other and then possibly even have been working on their own
solutionsthat maybe was already there and then not work consistently.
This is an important thing, which we all have to work together, so I ask you
to follow me into the Accessibility Forum just "newly" created. I understand
that mailing lists are sometimes easier to use, but I would hope that we all
work together to find their way to this forum.
the address is: http://support2.magix.net/boards/samplitude/
Anyone can create an account because the captcha is in contrast to the trial
downloads audio capable ;-) PS: at the trial downloads captcha I care soon.
There is a new category: "Accessibility / Barrierefreiheit"
In it there are three forums:
- General Discussions / Allgemeine Themen
- Feature Requests / Feature-Anfrage
- Bugreports / Fehlerberichte
In the three forums please german and english should be spoken, so it does not
occur two different worlds. I will be active in the forums. I also ask the
admins of mailing lists to be active there and perhaps really to lay the
communication there.
I am also willing to adjust threads yet, perhaps divided into various screen
reader, I'm open to suggestions.
Why do I do this? I would like to be there for all, but I really can not
afford this, if there are many different places. Someone comes then too short,
and nobody wants that. I really can be effective only in one place. Please
respect that. The forum is the right place, i think. Although I am now logged
in mailing lists, I can really only be active in the forum. Anything else
would be only temporary and would in the long run not be a profit. But with
the forum we can actually create all together a platform that helps everyone.
Please share this information with any one you know, carry the forum out
further in all mailing lists and groups in which you are active.
"Great things are done together" - With this sentence i finish this post and
wish you a nice weekend.
greetings from Dresden
Tom
