You can input your windows 7 or 8 product key at the setup screen. It's
something they've started doing a while back. But it sometimes fails so then
you talk to a technition.

Len. You don't put in your Windows 7 product key. How are you doing the
upgrade exactly? Remember you first need to have Windows 7 installed then
perform the upgrade on that PC in order to get it approved by Microsoft.
Once that PC has been added then when you install Windows 10 from scratch it
will go on to a server and grab the product key for it so when installing
you don't need to put in a product key at all if you don't want too. Note:
before downgrading you may wish to use a tool such as Keyfinder once that PC
has been upgraded to pull the product key out of the registry. When that PC
has been upgraded then you can reinstall Windows 10 on it again with one
caveat. If you install Windows 10 from scratch and you use the ISO from the
Microsoft website and your Windows build is an OEM then the key that you
have extracted from the registry won't work because the ISO that you are
using is a full Microsoft retail one rather than an OEM. If that happens
call the Microsoft Accessibility desk and they should sort you out with a
new product key.

Hey all. I'm trying to upgrade to windows 10 but my windows 7 product keys
doesn't work. I can't think why because I have a dvd. I think I remember
someone else having this problem a while ago. Could anyone tell me perhaps
who I can contact at Microsoft to help me resolve this?
