As many will be aware the latest version of Komplete Kontrol adds by
default spoken feedback for adjustable values in the plugin edit side of
Komplete Kontrol, allowing information such as volume, synth
parameters,reverb type and FX etc.
We of course already had this functionality thanks to Jamies surface
feedback feature, and with this enabled and KK now also reporting
information, we were getting double chatter.
The obvious step was to turn off the OSARA surface feedback, which left
only the Komplete Kontrol speech, however this then disabled the screen
reader speech potentially for those who also use a dedicated surface
reader in conjunction with kk.
If anyone in this scenario can confirm this, I think the solution is not
to turn off the surface feedback in the OSARA options menu, but instead
to hit the applications key on the Komplete Kontrol plugin and set the
automation notifications back to default rather than 'report all' which
was previously required.
After doing some experimentation here this afternoon, I found by doing
this I only had Komplete Kontrol sapi 5 speech for it's own plugin, but
default screen reader speech when using the surface control track mixing
feature of the keyboards on the standard track view purely with audio
and/or a mixture of KK instances.
I am still talking to the Komplete Kontrol team to see if we can
incorporate a toggle for speech just on the plugin edit side of KK, but
for now this seems to avoid the dual device speech issue.
