Hi, can't answer all your questions, but,
Q1: royalty free music I tend to go to audionetwork.com as the quality of the
production music is very high. Sound effects I generally use
prosoundeffects.com, hey have a wide range of libraries and individual effects.
Q4: I've not used either of the specified mics. However, how good something
sounds is as much about the space you record in as how good the mic is.
Personally I'd probably go for the AT2100 as I use Audio Technica mics already.
Q5: This depends on budget. I use a Marantz 661mkII or a Sony PCM D100 for
field recording. But if you want something lower budget then I'd look at the
Tascam DR40 or DR100, or Zoom H4.
Q2 and Q8: Frankly, I'm sure you'll find free plug ins out there but whether
you can access them I couldn't say. And, if you're looking for a one-click
solution and think you can make things sound good, then, I don't see it
happening, audio doesn't work like that.
I know others on this list use Reaper, but this is technically a list for
Samplitude users. I believe there are help groups for Reaper users, maybe
someone could signpost you to one of these.
Hope the above is of some help
Ian

Subject: [vipaudioaccess] making podcast, need some ideas on audio and others
HI friends,
I am planning on making a podcast in which the theme would be me talking alone
on mike and sometimes doing live recording from my guests.
I hope anyone can chime in to answer my questions,
Note: my daw of choice is reaper
1. are there any good accessible and great colections of royalty free music and
sound effects site or server where I can go in and grab my music and ambient
souns?
2. what are some of the best practices when it comes to EQs, effects, gates,
and having good sounding in my podcast? are there any good plugins that are
free or paid that I should explore and play around?
3. what are some of the great hosting platforms that is accessible and
affordable where I can distribute to most podcast platform and have good
listeners stat
4. I am planning on atr2100 microphone or samsun q2u, is this a good sounding
mike for my podcast?
5. I need recommendation on any great and accessible recorder that I can go
along with the mike, which have monitoring capability, and other features that
can ease my productivity . 6. I am planning on using auphonic for my
postproduction, anyone have had any experience with this service?
7. for online guess recording, I am planning to use either zzencastr or
squadcast. is it good, or are there any other better choice which enhances the
audio quality? I understand that cleanfeed is free, but not sure of its
accessibility.
8. is there any ways in reaper where I can have a single way to do my post
production to my recorded file, so it works like applying all necesary eqs,
effects and gates in a single click?
thanks for the great insights
