Thanks Steve, thing is I already have the image files. Now this is something I need answering. When I launch Independence, I get the option of installing from a volume, but I don't get an option to specify where that volume is, but when I run the .exe from within the image folder I saved, it prompts me to browse to the DVD content...and it won't recognize the image files I have.

Ok, so are the image files classed as the "volume" or the "content"? It seems as if Independence is expecting the volume to be in a certain place in order to install it from that volume, but where is that? I could download again, but would rather get my head around the whole process. Cheers steve.

Subject: [vipaudioaccess] Re: Installing Independence Pro

Steve,

This happened to Juan as well because he had Basic, then upgraded
later, as did I.

First, you have to understand Magix's weird naming conventions. The
Independence library goes into a directory called Magix\Independence
Libraries\Independence xxx, where xxx is either Basic or Pro. That
whole stem, starting with "Magix", is placed directly under, or
inside, the path you specify when installing the product. So if you
say you want Independence installed in E:\My Softsynths, you'll get
E:\My softsynths\Magix\Independence libraries\Independence xxx (again,
xxx=Basic or Pro).

Now, what you have to do is, when upgrading Pro from Basic, first
rename (or copy) the Basic folder you already have to one where Pro
replaces Basic in its name (see above). Next, start the installer and
specify the stem directory (see above). The installer will find what
you already have, properly named Magix\Independence
libraries\Independence Pro, and carry on with the download. If you use
the JAWS cursor to watch the screen, you'll see a whole bunch of
things go flying buy, and the number rapidly climb to somewhere in the
1800's I think it is. Then, things will slow down to sub-light speed
of activity, your download will commence with the ninth file in the
lot, and the rest, as they say, is future history.

Hope this helps.

Ok, I’ve gone through the usual procedure to install, but when selecting where to install from, e.g, DVD, On line or volume, it says it’s going to install Independence Basic. I have all the Independence Pro image files, so is there something I’m missing? Steve.
