Steve, JPR and All,
With respect to how I split the KB in the SONAR days, I used the Drum Map
Manager and transposed every note as needed. Fact is, I had forgotten I had
used the Drum Map Manager in this way because it was so long ago. I would then
assign a given track to a custom drum map if I wanted to have that channel be
part of my key split scheme. In the case where a key split comprised two
channels, I would arm and turn input echo on for both channels. Fortunately,
I saved my Master.INS file, containing my instrument definitions for my Korg
Triton studio, which definitions I typed in by hand years ago, and all my
custom Sonar Templates, including a very useful Normal template which Was able
to port over to the new installation of Sonar 8.5 with CT.
The only thing I forgot was that, since I changed MIDi interfaces, I now had
several missing MIDi ports that had to be reassigned to the new MIDI interface.
In the case of my drum maps, that meant going through every note and changing
the output port from a nonexistent MIDI interface and port to the new FocusRite
MIDI IN and OUT ports. It was not that hard once I realized what needed to be
done. Just repetitive.
I then saved my new Normal template and Voila. Now, how to replicate this in
Samplitude.

JP, all those parameters are probably in the Independence UI. I know there
are a bunch of midi options and you can split the keyboard, but I'm sure
more access will be coming in the future. Steve.

Subject: [vipaudioaccess] Re: Independence Pro. No solo brass instruments
Hi Kevin.
This is only my opinion, but I must say I am disappointed with Independence
Pro.
While some samples are good, the programmation has been loked over. As you
mentioned in an earlier message, there is no midi volume assignment on any
patches I have played with, pitch bend is set to 1 semi-tone which is
ridiculous. I don’t think it is worth the disk space it takes, and Kontakt
has much better banks all over the place.
I’m still happy I bought the suite for its effects though.
Best regards,
JPR

Guys,
Interesting. I was looking through Independence Pro and I noticed that,
while there are solo woodwinds, there don’t appear to be any solo brass.
Only brass sections:
Trumpets
Horns
BonesMade me think that maybe I only had the basic package. But the size
of my Independence sample directory shows as about 64GB. So, that must be
all of it. Are there solo horns and other brass one can get from Magix?
Curios,
Kevin
