Hi Joe and Flor,
First, uninstall the old program.
To get the latest version of 7-zip, visit:
https://ninite.com/
and press h a few times until you reach the Compression heading. The
option for 7-zip is immediately underneath the heading. Tick the
checkbox next to 7-zip, press b to take you to the Get Your Ninite
button, press Enter, and the download will begin.
Run the installer and follow the prompts (if any). Ninite installers
come with no ads or nagware, and are guaranteed virus-free.
Hold on to the installer program and run it periodically for updates.
This isn't the first or even the second time I've dispensed this
advice. The same few questions keep coming up. Maybe if VIP Students
had an FAQ page, it would help to cut down on list traffic? Well,
just a thought...
