It is not absolutely the case that a message is gone permanently when it is deleted from Deleted Items in outlook Express. The data remains on disk so long as you haven't done a Disk Cleanup or emptied your Recycle Bin since that time. However, it may be tricky to retrieve it in a readable form. But there is hope. If the message was deleted recently, and one feels comfortable using System Restore, one may restore their Windows to a time when the message was present in the Inbox, let's say, or in the Deleted Items before it was deleted from there. Then, outside of that, there's also the fairly simple solution of asking the original sender to please resend the message... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 23, 2008 6:09 AM Subject: [vip_students] Re: retrieving an email from recycling bin Hi It depends on if you are using Outlook Express, Seoise, you cannot retreive from the Delete folder. It is gone permanently. There is software you caan use to retreive recently deleted e-mails. I have a software package called tune-Up Utilities and I could get a recently deleted e-mail back using that but otherwise I think you may be out of luck. There is also forensic software that will do the same job. Is there any chance that you are using an e-mail on-line in which case may the deleted e-mail have gone to the Trash bin. If yes, you could open the e-mail package, e.g. hotmail or g mail and cursor or tab to the trash bin and see if the e-mail is there. You could then bring in back to the Inbox. Maybe you should tell us more about if you are using Outlook Express, Outlook or whatever Seoise. Sorry this sounds a little negative at present.
