UPC Ireland launches Horizon phone app

UPC Ireland is launching a smart phone app that allows customers to make
calls at the same rate as their UPC Home Phone call pack.

The app takes advantage of local Wi-Fi roaming and can be used throughout
the world, avoiding roaming costs. Family members can also use the app,
allowing parents to keep an eye on the calling habits of their children.

It takes the Horizon brand, though is distinct from the multiplatform TV
service. The Horizon name is also being used for a new Wi-Fi service,
available across 10,000 homes in Limerick, and rolling out across the
country.

Ronan McEvoy, Head of Consumer Products, UPC Ireland said, “The innovative
Horizon Phone App gives you the benefits of your home phone and smartphone
all-in-one. It allows UPC customers to get the best value from their home
phone minutes, but with the convenience of easy access to their mobile
contact list to make calls at home, out & about – and even abroad.”

Up to three members UPC home can use the app at the same time.

The app will be available free of charge for UPC Home Phone customers this
Spring on Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for Apple iOS.
