That was my altered subject line as I said earlier! It was Jaws 12 when you jumped in!!Now when I see Jaws 12 as a subject line then I expect the thread not to be hijacked by other screen reader information but if it says jaws and Hal for example then I can choose to open it or not!
I am confused about threads being hijacked that's all!No I don't have any interest in other screen readers as Jaws is fine for me, but for others if that's what they want well fine for them too!
Don't know about you but Ihave other things to do now so won't be reading any more on this thread from you! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I suggest that if you wish to throw other screenreaders in the fray you please create a new subject line and not always jump in on others threads!----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Why are you confused. Hal and Supernova are screen readers for blind and partially sighted. It may not be your screen reader. If you do not know anything about these screen readers it would probably be best that those who do comment. However, if you intend using these screen readers then I would be happy to try and help clear up your confusion.----- Original Message ----- From: "tony sweeney" <deirton711@xxxxxxxxx>To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, February 28, 2011 10:11 AM Subject: [vip_students] Jaws 12 and OtherWe're going in to Hal and Supernova now I'm afraid, I'm now getting confused!!----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 25, 2011 6:19 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: Jaws 12 To read an e-mail In plain text I press dover to open it and then have to tab in to the message to read it.-original message- Subject: [vip_students] Re: Jaws 12 From: "Flor Lynch" <florlync@xxxxxx> Date: 25/02/2011 6:01 pm Eleanor, With JAWS you go into the message as usual, by pressing enter. Does Hal share that extra step with Supernova? based on what you say I surmise that it would; but I've used neither.----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 25, 2011 3:53 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: Jaws 12Another thing Flor which I did not know at the time is that one then has to tab in to the message box to read the message when in plain text. I am using Supernova. Maybe it is different when using Jaws. Tony: In Tools | Options ctrl+tab or right-arrow along to the Send tab control, tab your way through the dialogue, and you will be seeing two groups of radiobuttons. change them both from htnl (1 of 2) to plain text (2 of 2). That'll take care of most text problems. (I'd also preferably uncheck the above-mentioned read all messages in plain text checkbox.)----- Original Message ----- From: "(NCBI) Paul Traynor" <paul.traynor@xxxxxxx>To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 25, 2011 2:02 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: Jaws 12To turn all your text messages to plain text, go into "Tools then options then Reading" using control + tab keys. Make sure that the checkbox "read all messages in plain text" is checked and then ok followed by close.
