Hi Tony, With Internet Explorer running press Insert and 6 on the main keyboard. This brings up the Jaws configuration manager relating to internet explorer and you can then go into set options, keyboard etc. Not sure if there's a hotkey that will bring up the keyboard manager off the top of my head but I'm sure someone will advise if there is. All the best, Francis. ----- Original Message ----- From: tony sweeney To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2011 9:22 AM Subject: [vip_students] Re: Deactivating Jaws Keys Morning Francis, That's exactly the kind of thing that I'm looking for indeed. Can try that but wonder if anyone has say a keystroke that would do the same thing? Thanks, Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: Francis Kane To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, May 11, 2011 4:07 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: Deactivating Jaws Keys Hi Tony, You could try going into the configuration manager in Jaws and going to set options. In here go to keyboard options and then under navigation quick keys choose off. Then click Ok, save your changes, and close the configuration manager. This will disable keys such as h for headings, t for tables, b for buttons etc. You can turn it on again when finished. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not but hope it helps. All the best, Francis. ----- Original Message ----- From: tony sweeney To: students list Sent: Wednesday, May 11, 2011 2:59 PM Subject: [vip_students] Deactivating Jaws Keys Afternoon, Now say there is a non jaws user using my computer say to assist for example, is there any way to deactivate the jaws keys in order as to not restrict the person in navigating the web for example? In other words, I'd still want to hear jaws speaking but the other person wouldn't be impeded by active jaws keys. Trust that that all makes sens to you!
