Hi Dereck,When I entered on Details it altered the items in my folder to a single column. Now when I go into the view menu it says detail checked but entering on it doesn't uncheck it?

You should be presented with a list of items which refer to columns in your folder. Just make sure the first 3 on the list are checked, and remove the check option from any of the rest of the items on the list. Use the down arrow to move through the list and spacebar to check and uncheck. Tab to Ok when finished. Hope this helps Regards Dereck Dereck Carolan Technology Trainer NCBI- Working for People with Sight Loss Clonbrusk Resource Centre Coosan Road Athlone Co Westmeath Tel: 0906471151 Mob: 0866086771 -----Original Message----- From: vip_students-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:vip_students-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of roslynallman@xxxxxxxxx Sent: 13 August 2012 18:37 To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [vip_students] Re: Arranging items in a folder Hi Flór and Paul, Got my items in alphabetical order now. Just one thing but not as important. They used to be in three columns but are now in six. Any ideas? Hi Roslyn, If Flors suggestion hasn't already sorted you out then try this; 1. First put all your files and folders in the desired position you want. 2. Now go into tools and folder options, do this while still in windows explorer of course. 3. In the options section, press keys "Control + Tab" to move into the "Views" page. 4. Now you should be positioned on the "Reset Folders" button if not then tab around till you come to it. 5. Press the "Spacebar" once and you'll be asked if you are sure you want to reset your files and folders list, press spacebar on the "Yes" button and then go to the OK button and again press spacebar once to complete. Now close out of your windows explorer and then go back in to see if it has held for you. Paul H, Sorry I mentioned in my email I had tried various options in the view menu but to no avail. Thanks for your suggestions though. Go into the "My Documents" folder. 2. Go into "Tools" and then "Options". 3. In the first combo box you might see something which says "Use common tasks and folders", I might not have that exactly correct but it will be something like this. 4. Press the down arro till you get Classic desktop" again it will be something like this and then click on the OK button to complete. Paul. -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
