The REALLY interesting thing about these birds are that although they
are technically classified as suboscines (birds that don't learn their
song), they have dialects and show some limited aspects of learning as
do oscines (the learners)--suggesting that they might be a 'missing
link'....folks who were trying to prove this couldn't get funding, but
it would be one incredible study....I wrote about it in some chapters
quite awhile ago...
