Subject: [vicsireland] VICS Information and Technology Day 2008

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to announce that this year's VICS Information and Technology Day
will take place on Saturday November 22nd in University College Cork.

The event will get under way around 11:00, and run until 4:30 or
thereabouts. The format will be similar to that adopted in recent years -
seminar style presentations in the morning, followed by hands-on technology
demonstrations in the afternoon.

Representatives from some of the biggest assistive technology vendors in the
UK and Ireland will be in attendance to show off their latest offerings,
while the VICS crew will provide an insight into the latest developments in
the world of Information Technology. A selection of the topics you can
expect to learn about on the day are blogging, podcasting, i-Tunes,
electronic travel aids, the Apple Mac, and digital television. For the
partially sighted, portable magnification devices will be on display.

A detailed timetable of planned presentations will follow in due course.

Attendance is free for fully paid-up members of VICS, and there will be an
opportunity for new members to sign-up on the day.

Please feel free to circulate to anyone who you feel would be interested in
coming along.

The committee looks forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the
event.

Kind regards,

Ciaran
