Hi all,

It's that time of year again; time to take VICS on the road to bring our
expert training to the masses.

Our first training day of this term sees us making our way to Carlow
town, on Saturday October 17th (5 weeks from now).

For anyone who hasn't attended a VICS training event before, here's a
quick rundown on what it's all about.

Basically it's an opportunity for members to come along and develop
their skills in whatever area of computing / technology they wish. VICS
expert trainers will be on hand to provide 1-to-1 training, together
with detailed documentation the trainee can take away with him/her to
enable them to practice their newly acquired skills at home.

The training is very flexible, lasting from anything from 1 hour to 4
hours, and covering any topic the participant wishes.

It's also a good social occasion, and an excellent chance to meet and
learn from your fellow VICS members.

Anyone wishing to join us in Carlow, or requiring more information,
please drop a line to chairperson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Depending on the level of demand, we may not be able to offer training
to everyone who requests it. Therefore, we will be operating a
first-come-first-served policy, so get in early!

I am including a list of suggested topics / subject areas below:

Subject areas:
Jaws for Windows;
Zoomtext;
Internet Explorer;
Outlook Express / Windows Mail;
Microsoft Word;
ITunes;
Skype;
Mobile Phones;

Topics:
Twitter / Facebook;
Solving Capchas with Web Vissum;
Online purchasing;
Online searching (Google, Youtube, flights etc);
Webtext;
BBC Listen again;
Using the Calendar / Reminders on a mobile phone;
Internet Browsing on a mobile phone;

The above are only ideas; we're open to any other suggestions / requests
you may have.

So, as I said, if you're any way interested in coming along on the 17th,
by all means get in touch. We'd be delighted to see you there. The email
address again is chairperson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Ciaran
