hi flor according to our 12 year old you should do the following 1 take one capsule from the first bottle take 2 from the second take 3 from the third and take 4 from the fourth bottle now weigh all the capsules if they were all of equal weight the overall weight would be 100 mg but as we know one bottle was in error therefore if the overall weight is 101mg then the first bottle is the culprit if overall weight is 102mg the second bottle is the culprit if 103 the third bottle and if 104 the fourth bottle or something like that she tells mep.s. she also tells me it was probably an oasis fan working in the factory who packed the dodgy bottle and I can well believe it!

Greetings,This was sent to the BCAB group back in 2003, so those of you subscribed inOctober of that year, will have seen this. There was an answer, which I will send in a few days, have a go, it's logical, not mathematical. From: "George Bell" <info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Date: Fri, 24 Oct 2003 15:16:42 +0100 If you are thinking of applying for a job at Microsoft, here's a question that, asked at a recent interview which might have you wondering. You are presented with 4 identical bottles of capsules. Each bottle is supposed to contain an equal number of 10 milligram capsules. However, due to a manufacturing error, one bottle contains 11 mg capsules. You have at your disposal a scale, (not a balance), but are only permitted one single measurement with it. How do you determine which bottle contains the 11 mg capsules?
