Subject: [vibug-support] Re: Data Retrieval Emergency
Hi Nadine,
You might try Thumbtack?
The companies send you information and you get to pick. It's ok if you choose
none of them. At the end it gives you options for Not needing the service
anymore, choosing outside of Thumbtack and a couple of others.
I last needed data recovery about 15 years ago. I had good luck in Cambridge
but I think they are no longer there. I remember thinking that somewhere near
Harvard and MIT would have to be very good and also cheap enough for a college
student to afford. At the time, I was right.
Good luck.

Good Sunday Afternoon All,
Hopefully everyone got out today to enjoy the nice weather.
Apologies for not being at yesterday’s voting although I had plans to be there
until that plan changed. I am building a fundraising consultant business, and
had to meet with potential clients yesterday. So glad I did because they hired
me!
That aside, I have a new problem that far exceeds the issues I had utilizing
the Uber app, and which are thankfully behind me now because of David’s helpful
email.
My new problem is, I committed the ultimate faux pa when I brought a cup of tea
to my desk where it ended up splashing onto my hard drive. Yep, you know the
rest. The thing will not work! And, I did not learn about the trick of
submerging it into a bag of rice to dry it out until three days later. The
consequence is that Now I need to come deep out of pocket to get my data
recovered.
I went to Best Buy and they could not open the hard drive and neither could MS
when they tried it remotely. Do any of you have any recommendations for a data
retrieval computer company that is good but does not cost an arm and a leg?
I’ve already talked to Best Buy about theirs and also to Kroll.
