Hi John. Every time I open the app, it asks if I want to upgrade. I
say no and that is it. I go ahead and work with the app no problem.
Now, I installed quite awhile ago and maybe they changed the manner in
which the app works but you won't find out if you don't try it. Try
it. It's free and if you don't like just uninstall. Note, I tried some
others but they were not accessible at all. ESFile Explorer is and
that is kinda major.
Trial period? None with my install. It just keeps working. However, if
I am correct, the trial period is for the paid version. To get out of
that screen, just tap back. Then the new screen gives you options of
drives, such as internal, external such as SD card and thumb drive.
Then you start dinking around to see what is there!
You have to be willing to explore the app to find out what does what.
I am that kind of person so no problem for me. Was kinda like a
treasure hunt.
I have used the app along with a connected thumb drive to move files
from the thumb drive to my Fire tablet that has no slot for an
external memory card and a later model that does. In fact, this is the
way I installed the Google Play Store on both Fire tablets.
Anymore questions, just shout. Maybe I should write a blog post about
the app, although I believe I do give some instructions on my post
about installing the Google Play Store on my blog.

Interested to read that you use “free ES Explorer file manager”, i’m looking
for something similar and went to the Amazon.co.uk page for that item. I’m
in the UK but don’t see that that would make a difference but the app get’s
a real slating on the site. Unless you pay for a premium subscription it
appears to do virtually nothing once the trial period ends. Interested to
hear your thoughts/experience of this.
