you have to connect your Kindle to the computer and back it up to it. Are you having problems with your Kindle? The users guide states this only should be done as a last resort.

If you are actually in a book, then you do have an issue, and may have to call Kindle CS ..but page prefs work *only* in an actual book. They don't even work in the after material where you can rate the book and get suggestions. I'm not sure about the introductory material, like tables of contents. Also, is your TTS on? (oops, that's in page prefs, never mind!) OK, can you turn a page, forward or back with the buttons on the side of the Kindle, and if so, does the voice guide tell you which page you are on? Sounds to me like you might not be in the actual book ...but in the end material. If so, go back to the beginning of the book using the go to menu, and see if that works.
